Guitar in hand and art on mind: noise pop by Pink Noise
It is time to introduce you to one of my favorite musical discoveries of the last few weeks: Pink Noise. I have had their EP “Here Is Happiness” in my playlist for quite a while now.

The New York-based Pink Noise (with a Tel Aviv background) – a term taken from the field of (link: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/1/f-Rauschen text: “pink noise” in which the higher frequencies – consist of the brother duo Yuval (guitar, samples) and Itamar Ziegler (guitar, bass), singer and bassist Sharron Sulami and drummer Yuval Lion. Beautifully edgy noise pop.
EP “Here Is Happiness” – not easily available here…
Okay, here’s the tricky part. “Here Is Happiness” is not readily available, but is released exclusively on eMusic – a fairly well-established download subscription service in the United States (although it can be canceled or paused at any time and is reasonably priced), which is not really well-established in Europe. For those who want to know the background: I tried eMusic a while ago in my review at Netzpiloten – but be aware that the billing system has changed in the meantime, so the price levels given in the article are no longer accurate.
Update March 28, 2011: In the meantime, the music can be heard and purchased “Here Is Happiness” at Bandcamp.

However, you can still listen to the sound of Pink Noise – in November 2009, the band recorded a live version of their album in the Brooklyn Vibramonk Studio and have put some songs online. Director Geoffray Barbier is responsible for the videos:
These are promising glimpses of her next album, “What Would Happen If Someone Finds Out?”, which is due out soon – a release date has not yet been announced. I will keep an eye on the band – and you should too.
