A ♥ for blogs

A ♥ for blogs” is entering its third round, this time started by Marcel. This time, I have selected three examples: two on photography and one on education. All three are available after the jump.

Fotoholiker

Julia’s blog Fotoholiker only recently found its way into my feed reader – when I came across it via Happy Shooting. Her blog is about photography and includes many practical tips and guest posts. I particularly like the fact that she manages to shed light on the subject beyond the well-trodden paths – for example, when she collects (in the spirit of Susan Sonntag’s important essay collection “On Photography”) 44 quotes about photography or shares her thoughts about dealing with criticism.

Tilla Pe

Tilla Pe – “Images & Stories” is the subheading of her blog, and that is pretty much what it is about. What I appreciate about her is that she has found what every photographer is looking for – a visual language. And when you look at her images (which are usually posted without text) and let them sink in, your imagination takes a journey into the story that inspired Tilla, leading to the question, “What speaks to me about this?” And thus, in the first steps towards your own visual language.

Jean Pol Martin’s Wordpress

Jean Pol Martin writes about educational science and everything else that interests him. He is always finding exciting videos that deal with philosophical topics, summarizing his own thoughts and reporting on his work, for example in senior education on the internet. But what fascinates me most about Jean Pol is the way he uses the web. He is always open to taking up discussions on his blog posts and responding to them in new posts, and in doing so he seems to me like a perpetual seeker, always curious about input and processing it in his own image. The prototypical scientist. And a role model for those who would like to be one.
